It turns out that I'd somewhat screwed up my orientation. Despite reading every document about five times, I missed the sentence that stated the actually date of orientation and assumed that it was another of the dates on the sheet. Seriously, why leave the important bit in normal font and something unimportant in a giant table format?!?!? Anyway, it all turned out to be cool and the course-coordinator is awesome, and used to do lighting for Van Halen (did I mention that this guy is awesome?). I've got some quick supply shopping to do this weekend but other than that, it's all fine, almost. I also got my timetable. Now when I first applied and from what other had told me of the course, it seemed that I would get at least one work-day off. This is not the case. So, two hours later I was at work, handing in my resignation since uni starts for real next week. I worked the rest of the day, finishing up what I could and setting up what I couldn't complete for somoene else to take over easily. I'm not going to miss the job, I won't deny that I pretty much hated that job. But for a year and a half, I gotten to know every person in that office and in a day I had to say goodbye to all of that and do it properly for once. So I bought cake and we had an impromptu fairwell party for a bit and now I'm home. I kinda don't know what to say now, something just ended that I wasn't expecting to end and i don't like it. mood: sad |

What better way to spend a couple of hours in a printroom with nothing to print and internet access with all the interesting sites (facebook) filtered out? - GOOGLE NEWS!!! Yes, I am that bored with the job at the moment but I came across this: www.news.com.au/technology/story/0,25642,24662622-5014239,00.htmlInstead of heading over to Rottnest for a holiday you can grab a lift (literally) to space, just hope it doesn't break down halfway up... Edit: If anyone has any photos or images of Italian cityscapes (particularly Venice) from the 1930's or chandeliers from that era - could you please let me know? I'm trying to do a couple of awesome things with the New Fortune theatre but the research I need for it is a pain.

| Libertarian = Chaotic Evil? |

Well I can't say that I'm surprised but in my defense, I was almost Neutral: Good & Evil: Good ---- XXXX (4) Neutral - XXXXXXXXXX (10) Evil ---- XXXXXXXXXXX (11) I Am A: Chaotic Evil Human Sorcerer (2nd Level) Ability Scores:Strength-12 Dexterity-15 Constitution-12 Intelligence-17 Wisdom-13 Charisma-12 Alignment:Chaotic Evil A chaotic evil character does whatever his greed, hatred, and lust for destruction drive him to do. He is hot-tempered, vicious, arbitrarily violent, and unpredictable. If he is simply out for whatever he can get, he is ruthless and brutal. If he is committed to the spread of evil and chaos, he is even worse. Thankfully, his plans are haphazard, and any groups he joins or forms are poorly organized. Typically, chaotic evil people can be made to work together only by force, and their leader lasts only as long as he can thwart attempts to topple or assassinate him. Chaotic evil is sometimes called demonic because demons are the epitome of chaotic evil. Chaotic evil is the best alignment you can be because combines self-interest and pure freedom. However, chaotic evil can be a dangerous alignment because it represents the destruction not only of beauty and life but also of the order on which beauty and life depend. Race:Humans are the most adaptable of the common races. Short generations and a penchant for migration and conquest have made them physically diverse as well. Humans are often unorthodox in their dress, sporting unusual hairstyles, fanciful clothes, tattoos, and the like. Class:Sorcerers are arcane spellcasters who manipulate magic energy with imagination and talent rather than studious discipline. They have no books, no mentors, no theories just raw power that they direct at will. Sorcerers know fewer spells than wizards do and acquire them more slowly, but they can cast individual spells more often and have no need to prepare their incantations ahead of time. Also unlike wizards, sorcerers cannot specialize in a school of magic. Since sorcerers gain their powers without undergoing the years of rigorous study that wizards go through, they have more time to learn fighting skills and are proficient with simple weapons. Charisma is very important for sorcerers; the higher their value in this ability, the higher the spell level they can cast. Greetings Uncertain Readership,
Last week I got a phone call from the Irish Theatre Club to do lights for their upcoming play. Since I've only got exams on at the moment, I readily agreed. Strange thing though, when I usually get called in to do lighting for a play, I generally assume I'll be designing, setting up and actually running the lights on performance nights. Turns out they only really needed me to design and set up while their usual technician will be actually running the nights (although he has offered to let me do any nights I want to). So here I thought I was going to lose most of my evenings for the next two weeks and now I have them mostly free!
If you talk to anyone who has done lighting for a decent amount of time, they usually say that they've electrocuted themselves at least once in their time as a technician. When we get trained we're also taught some basic electrical safety just so we don't hurt ourselves, but mistakes happen. Previously I'd only managed a mild concussion on the catwalks of the Dolphin Theatre from a low hanging section of roof. Today I discovered that if a cable, carrying a current, is wrapped around a metal pole to form a coil, it electifies the pole. Needless to say, my arm was kinda tingly for an hour afterwards.
Now for the meme - spread the procrastination (stolen from Sophie)
1. Randomly pick a song from your music library. 2. Find the lyrics for the first four verses/chorus 3. Go to Google translation and translate the lyrics from English into German. 4. Take the new German lyrics and translate them into French. 5. Take the new French lyrics and translate them into English. 6. Post the NEW English lyrics and have people guess the original song.

Dear uncertain readership,
Last week I got a new set of contacts and today I completed the set with an updated pair of glasses. It's been a couple of months since I've had up-to-date vision and wow.....
The contacts i've had from time to time do only so much. They correct vision but only to a certain extent. These new glasses are something else. I don't think i've ever seen anything with this amount of sharpness, it literally hurt for the first couple of minutes. It's not like it's a life changing experience or anything but it does make me kinda thankfull that I still have sight. The way my eyes are, I may not have vision forever, although surgery may be able to fix that.
In other news, things have finally begun to fall in place once again. I've found a measure of peace with myself that I'd been without for a while. Finding the silver lining or "little things" has helped. Been practically living in a theatre for a month has also been good, I've forgotten how much that place can feel like a home. College Challenge is coming up this Sunday and after that I'm practically free except for exams on the horizon. Can finally start planning for things to do rather than having stuff already set.
Well that's enough of late night thoughts and musings, back to cleaning the house for a family visit at lunch time.... music: New Shoes - Paolo Nutini |

Hello uncertain readership!
Just got back from UCS camp, which was interesting although the jury is still out on whether is was enjoyable. Basically we got stuck with the weirdest group of freshers who didn't drink and didn't party at all. They even studied while on camp....
Finally watched Producers, can't believe it has taken so long but now I finally understand.
Screwed over my knee again, playing soccer while on camp. Now I just have to get in touch with my surgeon to find out what exactly is wrong with it. Funny though that I pretty much did the same injury in exactly the same way, it's the last time I'm playing soccer, ever.
Auditions for Panto, not sure how I went. I want a decent role but with my leg how it is, I'm not sure what I'll be given.
Finally - Alphabet thingo "burrowed" from lirt mood: sleepy |

The Archiving job just got a bit more interesting today. I spent seven-and-a-half hours scanning. Yep, that's right, just scanning. The gave me a heap of prints and I had to feed them into this mechanical gymnastics bar of a scanner. I even got prints that qualified as "Blue Prints". Not the stuff on blue paper with white lines but just the plain white paper with blue ink all over them. Nowdays designs are just done on big sheets of paper mostly, or thick plasticy stuff. Anyway, saw the designs to a bank, anyone up for a heist? Also, after four or five months, the Matchbox2 has returned!! For those who don't know, my first car was a Ford Laser and had as much space in it as a matchbox car, hence it getting called the Matchbox. When I blew the head gasket on that, I ended up getting another car, another Ford Laser (Matchbox2). In February I had a dream that my car was wrapped around a power pole. Except it wasn't a dream and I had fallen asleep at the wheel. That's right people, don't drive tired, it's not pretty. So yeah, it's taken this long to get the repairs done and I now have the newly renamed Matchbox2.5!! Life is now mobile, which is very very good. Those 8-9am and 5-6pm trains can take a hike. Also, I'm managed to procure my very own set of Firefly and Serenity (legally) for under $40. Yes, I know half a dozen people who could've burned it for free but this way I have the satisfaction of actually spending some of my hard-earned *coughscanningcough* money!!! In a side note, I've started checking the meanings of words recently, I seem to have doubts these days that they mean what I think they mean. So far I haven't been wrong but I have been amused: Procure v obtain, acquire; bring about; act as pimp procurement n procurer n ( fem procuress) one who procures; pimp mood: jubilant |

Set music player on shuffle and list the first line of the first 20 songs that come up. No skipping - no matter how embarrassing. You guys have to guess the song. No googling. From nikiyafishhope you'll do better in this than I did in yours ;-) Guess the Song Name and the Artist, each is worth half a point. They're all fairly mainstream bands or hit songs at least, the shuffle did tend to pick up the more random songs on some of the tracks. Ah well, see how you go and when exams are over, I'll buy lunch for whoever scores the highest. Screening all comments so no one can cheat off each other, will post scores though. mood: sleepy |

Hehe, I'm now able to add "Can stamp official documents with big stamp" onto my CV. Yep, spent an hour with a stamp and a whole heap of designs that I don't really understand but got to stamp them with "Approved for Construction". Yay. In other news, still waiting to get my car back, it should have been done on Tuesday but the mechanics had their answering machine on and didn't return the calls. Annoying, and what's even worse is the train I have to catch to get home. I'm two stops away from Fremantle and it's already packed when I get on. The same applies to Subi when I go home. I want my car back. Finally, after my iPod crashed and had to be wiped in order to return functionality, the restoration process has begun to take shape! My music collection from 3-C has been added, only another 8gig worth to go... mood: tired music: Woman From Tokyo - Deep Purple |

I've just completeled my first day working the exact, stereotypical Nine-to-Five. And I loved it. Ok, that probably sounds weird but after being screwed over by my last job and, within a week, getting another job that only requires me to work one whole day, pays more than a usual week at the other place and is closer to both uni and home, it is brilliant. What was I doing? Archiving, to put it exactly, they put me in the archives of an Architecture company and said, "Find the old boxes that are falling apart, transfer everything in them to new boxes, put a new label on the box and put it back." It was boring, it was repetitive, it was dusty, there was barely enough light to see what I was doing and it was great. I swear, with each passing day, I relate to Rincewind more and more. mood: happy |

Well, as we draw to the end of the month I can now start looking back and identify the point when Murphey's Law first struck. The bastard works in a bank.
Anyway, the first few battles have been fought and by now things are starting to look much better. Next month is sure to be fun with several camps to go on and exams right in the middle!!!
What can go wrong will go wrong. I can expect the unexpected. It's only the truley unexpected that can get me now....
Casulties/Injury board: iPod- Memory had to be wiped in order to restore functionality. A low blow from Murphey but one that is slowly being fixed, one CD at a time. Stomach - Taken a few dents early in the battle but thanks to cheapo homebrands has made a full recovery. Bank Account - Outcome still pending, Murphey is good with bills.... mood: determined |
